Before you book.
How many ml does a chin need?
Commonly 1–2ml for men, depending on how much projection and width the profile needs. The exact amount is planned at consultation and agreed with you before anything is treated; you'll never be surprised by the volume or the cost.
Will it change my face from the front?
The work is mostly about the profile and lower-face balance, so the biggest change is seen side-on. From the front the difference is subtle, a little more width and definition at the base, rather than a dramatic shift.
Chin filler or chin implant?
Filler is reversible, same-day and can be built up in stages, which makes it the right first step for most men. Significant skeletal recession may still warrant a surgical opinion, and if that's the honest answer for your case, you'll be told so at consultation rather than sold a compromise.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first, and the chin is one of the more comfortable areas to treat. The usual report is brief pressure rather than pain.
What are the risks?
Common and short-lived: bruising, swelling and tenderness for a few days, occasionally a small firmness you can feel while it settles. Uncommon: asymmetry that needs adjusting, or filler that needs dissolving. Rare but serious: filler entering a blood vessel (vascular occlusion), an emergency the doctor is trained to recognise and treat on the spot, with dissolving agent kept in the room. You leave with aftercare instructions and a direct contact for any concern. Individual results, and side effects, vary.
