Can filler make your jaw wider?
Yes. Whether it should is the better question, and it is the one a consultation here actually answers.
The short answer: structural filler at the gonial angle can add genuine width to a male jaw, and filler along the mandibular border can strengthen its line. But most faces asking for width are really asking for definition, and the two are built differently. Width on the wrong face reads heavy, not strong.
Width and definition are different builds
Width is lateral: projection at the gonial angle, below the ear, where the jaw turns. Definition is linear: a clean, continuous mandibular border from ear to chin and crisp jaw-neck separation. Photographs reward definition far more reliably than width, which is why the masculine read usually comes from the line, not the bulk. Deciding which one a face needs is the actual skill.
When width is the right call
A genuinely narrow lower face, a gonial angle that barely turns, a jaw that vanishes in three-quarter view: these are width cases, and filler placed at the angle can change them convincingly. The effect is built in measured steps, checked against the whole face, because the distance between "strong" and "square in the wrong way" is small.
When width is the wrong call
- Fuller or rounder faces. Added width reads as added weight. These faces usually want definition, sometimes fat or skin work, not more lateral volume.
- A weak chin doing the damage. A jaw is a line with two ends, and a recessed chin makes any jaw terminate weakly. Widening the angle while ignoring the chin makes the imbalance louder.
- Chasing a template. A width target borrowed from someone else's face ignores the ratios that make yours work. The plan here strengthens your structure, not a reference photo's.
The numbers
Jawline work is £450 per ml, typically 2 to 4ml across both sides, with volume and price agreed at a £100 consultation before anything is opened. Where the assessment says the width you want is not the change your face needs, you will be told so plainly, with the alternative explained.

What about slimming a wide jaw instead?
That is the opposite direction, and usually muscle rather than structure: a heavy masseter, often from clenching or grinding. It is treated differently and assessed face-to-face at a lines-and-wrinkles consultation.
Is jaw filler risky?
It carries the same risk profile as structural filler generally: common short-lived bruising and swelling, uncommon adjustments, and the rare vascular emergency the doctor is equipped to treat on the spot. The full, honest version is in the risks guide.
