Why chin projection changes the jaw.
The most common jawline complaint is solved at the chin more often than anyone expects. The anatomy explains why.
The short answer: the jawline is a line, and a line is judged by its endpoint. The jaw runs from the gonial angle below the ear to the menton at the point of the chin, so a recessed or narrow chin makes the whole line terminate weakly whatever the jaw itself is doing. Project the chin, often in 1 to 2ml, and the jaw it anchors reads sharper without being touched.
One line, two ends
Look at any jaw you would call strong and you are really reading a continuous line: it turns at the gonial angle, runs the mandibular border, and lands at the chin. The eye judges the whole line by how it finishes. A chin that sits back or narrows lets the line dissolve into the neck, and the brain files the entire lower face as soft, then blames the jaw.
The profile test
In profile the effect is starker, because the chin also belongs to a second line: nose, lips, chin, read together. A recessed chin shortens that line and tips the balance of the whole profile towards the nose. This is why a millilitre or two at the chin is arguably the most underrated structural change in male aesthetics: it strengthens two lines at once.
Why it gets missed
Men ask for jawline, because the jawline is the marker photographs and search engines have taught them to want, and many clinics simply sell what is asked for. An assessment that reads the whole face frequently finds the chin doing the damage. It is the reason the sequence here draws the jaw late: anchors first, then the line that depends on them.
The numbers
Chin filler is £450 per ml and most chins need 1 to 2ml, so £450 to £900, agreed exactly at a £100 consultation. As structural changes go it is usually the smallest spend with the largest return in the lower face, and when the chin is not the problem, you will be told the jaw, or neither, is the right place to start.

Do I need chin and jawline filler together?
Sometimes, and when so they are planned as one continuous line rather than two purchases. Just as often the chin alone changes the read enough. The order and the split are exactly what the assessment decides.
Will chin filler be obvious from the front?
Projection reads mostly in profile and three-quarter view, which is where the change registers. Front-on, a treated chin reads as a slightly more decisive lower face, not as an addition; width front-on is only built where the face genuinely lacks it.
